Motörhead – Another Perfect Day (1983)

Album Overview

Another Perfect Day is the sixth studio album by British heavy metal band Motörhead, released on 4 June 1983 through Bronze Records. The album marked a significant change in the band’s lineup and musical direction, introducing guitarist Brian Robertson, formerly of Thin Lizzy.

While still rooted in Motörhead’s signature blend of heavy metal, hard rock, and punk attitude, Another Perfect Day featured more melodic guitar work and polished production. The album reached No. 20 on the UK Albums Chart, continuing the band’s success during the early 1980s.

Background and Recording

After guitarist “Fast” Eddie Clarke left Motörhead in 1982, the band recruited Brian Robertson as his replacement. Known for his melodic and technically refined guitar style with Thin Lizzy, Robertson brought a noticeably different sound to the band.

The lineup for the album:

  • Lemmy Kilmister – bass, vocals

  • Brian Robertson – guitar

  • Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor – drums

The album was produced by Tony Platt, who had previously worked with AC/DC. Recording sessions took place at Olympic Studios in London, giving the album a cleaner and more melodic production compared to earlier Motörhead releases.
