Kings & Queens of the Underground is the 8th studio album by English rock icon Billy Idol, released on October 17, 2014, by BFI Records. Marking Idol's first album of new material in nearly a decade since Devil's Playground (2005), the album highlights a fresh chapter in his musical journey.
The album debuted at number 34 on the Billboard 200, making it the highest-debuting record of his career. It also reached number 9 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart for the week of November 8, 2014, further underscoring its success. To promote the album, videos were released for the standout tracks "Can't Break Me Down" and "Save Me Now", which captured Idol's signature energy and style.
To support the release, Billy Idol launched the Kings & Queens of the Underground Tour, which kicked off on November 5, 2014, and concluded on April 4, 2015. The extensive 40-date tour saw Idol and his band performing across Europe, North America, and Australia.
