Internal tensions led to Hansen leaving in 1989, while Kiske departed in 1993. The band entered a turbulent era before stabilizing with vocalist Andi Deris in 1994, ushering in a more modern yet still melodic phase.
In 2016, a historic reunion brought Hansen and Kiske back, creating a seven-member lineup that thrilled fans worldwide.
