They attended Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, where their friendship and musical experimentation began.

Their early sound was heavily influenced by punk rock and funk, inspired by bands like Parliament-Funkadelic and The Clash.

After the tragic death of guitarist Hillel Slovak in 1988, the band went through lineup changes before achieving global fame with guitarist John Frusciante and drummer Chad Smith.

Their 1991 album Blood Sugar Sex Magik, produced by Rick Rubin, became a worldwide success and turned the band into rock superstars.

Today, the Red Hot Chili Peppers remain one of the most successful and respected alternative rock bands ever.

Full name: Anthony Kiedis

Early Life

Anthony grew up between Michigan and Los Angeles. His father, John Kiedis, was an actor involved in Hollywood, which exposed Anthony to the entertainment industry at a young age.

He later moved to Los Angeles and attended Fairfax High School, where he met Flea, Slovak, and Irons.

Personal Life

Kiedis has one son:

  • Everly Bear Kiedis (born 2007)

He struggled with addiction for years but became sober and wrote about his life in his memoir Scar Tissue.

Flea (Bass Guitar)

Full name: Michael Peter Balzary

Early Life
