Disturbed – The Lost Children (2011)

Album Overview

Released on November 8, 2011, The Lost Children is a B-sides compilation album by American heavy metal band Disturbed. The album gathers rare tracks, bonus songs, and previously unreleased material recorded throughout the band’s career from 2000 to 2010.

Unlike a traditional compilation, the album focuses specifically on songs that did not appear on the band’s main studio albums, giving fans access to material that had previously been difficult to find.

The release came shortly after the band announced a temporary hiatus, making the album a farewell of sorts before Disturbed returned several years later.

Background

Over the course of their career, Disturbed recorded numerous tracks for international editions, soundtrack releases, and special editions of albums. Many fans had never heard these songs because they were scattered across various limited releases.

With The Lost Children, the band decided to collect these tracks into a single album so listeners could finally experience the full range of their non-album material.

Frontman David Draiman explained that the compilation allowed fans to hear songs that the band felt deserved more attention.
