Nirvana – Live and Loud (Live) (2019)

Originally filmed and recorded on December 13, 1993, at Pier 48 in Seattle, Washington, Live and Loud is a live concert release by Nirvana. The performance was part of a television special broadcast on MTV and was later released in various formats, with a 2019 reissue bringing it to vinyl, CD, and high-definition video formats.

This show captures Nirvana during the In Utero era, showcasing their raw power, tight musicianship, and the band’s full electric stage presence near the end of their career.

Concert Background

The Pier 48 performance was one of Nirvana’s last major full-band shows, taking place just months before Kurt Cobain’s death in April 1994. Unlike festival appearances, this concert was carefully staged and filmed, combining high-quality audio and video production with the band’s trademark intensity.

Nirvana performed hits from Nevermind, new material from In Utero, and a selection of deep cuts and covers, making this show one of their most comprehensive live documents.
