🖼️ Cover Art & Design

The Good Times album cover features a portrait of Elvis from his early‑1970s period — capturing his then‑current stage and studio persona. Unlike many of his earlier albums, the artwork focuses on a more straightforward photographic aesthetic typical of 1970s rock and country LPs rather than heavy graphic design.

📈 Chart Performance & Reception

  • Billboard 200 (US): Peaked around #90 on the main album chart.

  • UK Albums Chart: Reached #42.

  • Cashbox Country Albums: Hit #1 on the country chart.

At the time of its release, Good Times was considered typical of Elvis’s 1970s catalog and wasn’t a huge mainstream smash — it even became one of the first of his LPs to hit discounted “cut‑out bins.” Nonetheless, it produced notable charting singles and proved popular in certain markets.

🎵 Popular Tracks & Singles

I’ve Got a Thing About You Baby – Reached #4 Country and #39 Pop on Billboard.
My Boy – One of the album’s biggest hits, topping the Adult Contemporary chart and entering the Country and Pop charts.
Loving Arms – Emotional ballad that became a fan favorite and has been widely covered.
Good Time Charlie’s Got the Blues – A late‑career highlight with bluesy feel.
Spanish Eyes – Classic pop cover showcasing Elvis’s smooth vocal style.

🤔 Did You Know?

🎸 Good Times was released the same day Elvis was recording Elvis: As Recorded Live on Stage in Memphis — showing just how busy and prolific this period of his career was.

🎤 Although not a massive commercial hit initially, “My Boy” became one of Elvis’s most beloved ballads and remains especially popular in Europe and Brazil.

📀 The song “I Got a Feelin’ in My Body” was later released as a single B‑side in 1979 and charted on the Country charts posthumously.
